Inauguration Event Information

Information about the inauguration of Neil Abercrombie and Brian Schatz, on December 6, 2010, at the Iolani Palace grounds, is below. The inauguration will also include confirmation services on the neighbor islands. Please contact us if you have questions.

WHAT:

The inauguration ceremony and celebration for Neil Abercrombie and Brian Schatz. The ceremony will include entertainment by: the Niu Valley Middle School Band; Hawaii Youth Opera; 111th Army Band; Willie K; Aaron Mahi & Dennis Kamakahi; Richard Ho'opi'i; Robert Cazimero; Kealoha; Beamer-Solomon Halau 'O Po'ohala; and Kokua Kalihi Senior Group.

WHERE:

The inauguration ceremony will take place on the grounds of Iolani Palace. The celebration following the ceremony will be held on the lawn of the Capitol building.

WHEN:

Monday, December 6, 2010. Program begins at 9:30 a.m., swearing-in at 12:00 p.m., inauguration ceremony ends at 12:30 p.m. Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m.

HOW:

Due to high demand, all tickets for assigned seating areas have been reserved. A limited number of unreserved seats will be available to the public on the day of the inauguration. To increase likelihood of securing one of these seats, please arrive at the inauguration ceremony early and report to the main entrance to the inauguration event along King Street.
